Name: Cosette
Age:18
Looks:5'4", slender, with long dark brown hair in curls down her back, big brown eyes
Personality: Cosette is sweet and endearing to all who meet her but she is far from being just a pretty face. She is intelligent and still has her child-like curiosity. Much of her life she has been secluded and never played with other children, so she is quiet and introverted, but not really shy.
History: Cosette was born to a poor factory worker. Cosette's father left Fantine when he learned she was pregnant. Unable to care for her child and work in the factory all day, Fantine placed Cosette in the care of Madame and Monsieur Therandier, the owners of an inn in Monterfermeil. They treated her horribly bur continued to accept Fantine's money.
Fantine's dying wish was for Valjean to raise her daughter as his own. So he found her, alone in the woods behind the inn carrying a heavy bucket of water. This first meeting with Valjean is the earliest thing in her childhood she can remember. She does occasionally recall small details of her early years, but nothing more than a mean name Eponine had called her or a chore she was assigned to do.
Shortly after, Valjean brought Cosette to Paris. She was raised in an abbey, her father helping the groundskeeper, and she attending school with the other girls taken in by the nuns. When Cosette was 12, she and her father left the abbey to live in a home on the Rue Plumet.
Valjean doted on his "daughter", giving her beautifully bound books and more dolls than a girl could ever want, but she always felt a part of her missing for she never knew her mother or anything of her own childhood. She has never doubted that the man was her father. She loves him dearly and each afternoon they talk a walk together down Rue Plumet into the park where they sit on a bench, he reading the newspaper, she the latest novel.
Profession and/or what you do everyday: Cosette mostly spends her days reading and exploring Paris. Some days she will volunteer with the poor.
Anything Else?: She calls her father "Papa" and has never thought to ask his real name.
